Feedback from one of the candidates:
My family life in Australia has changed dramatically for the better compared to our life in the UK.
The Australian Caterpillar dealer I started working for has an excellent life / work balance compared to UK companies.
In the UK I used to have to work 6 long days a week and coupled with the traffic jams and long journeys, my role in field service in the UK left me little quality time with my family, and with young children I felt there must be more to life than this.
But at this Australian Caterpillar dealer I work a lifestyle roster of 4 days on, 4 days off, 5 days on, 5 days off – repeating the cycle.
To have five days off then work four days and the have four days off again, it means I have had the chance to be with my family as my kids have grown, I get to attend school sports days to watch the kids which is something I could never have done in the UK.
It’s not all plain sailing making a move like this with a young family, you have to take the rough with the smooth while you find your feet.
Would the candidate recommend making the move to Australia to work for a Caterpillar dealer?
Well he said he was happy for us to share his story about his journey and that he’d highly recommend it to others and he wanted to say thanks to the Australian Caterpillar dealership for the opportunity!
