The 45 men and women selected were initially deployed without their families. With the company after the probationary period, actively assisting the workers to enable their families to be approved for visas for Australia.

Candidates were tested on their knowledge of Caterpillar and other OEM Dealer systems and processes, the use of reusability guides, use of Caterpillar Service Information System, Electronic Diagnostic Tooling and component dis-assembly procedures, their knowledge of contamination control, component re-assembly procedures, fault finding, safety, mine site procedures and testing of engines and components.
The candidates were warmly welcomed into the Australian Company’s operations – The company has an excellent support network and internal processes and procedures in place and quickly the deployed workers made a positive impact on the company’s operations.
Almost all deployed workers are still employed by the same Australian Company, with the company actively assisting the workers to relocate their families into Australia and helping the workers apply for Australian Permanent Residency.
